Birdie offers free SIM cards to students for home learning

(Hong Kong, 25 February, 2020) With classes in Hong Kong remaining suspended until at least April 20, 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak, primary and secondary schools have gone beyond using a range of online learning tools and live videos to keep students self-learning at home.

A stable network and adequate data volume are important for online learning at home. In view of this, Birdie, the first digital only mobile service provider in Hong Kong, partners with the social enterprise educational platform EdFuture, to provide free Birdie SIM cards to primary and secondary students in need for their home learning. With free SIM cards included mobile data and voice service, students can use e-learning tools, watch teaching videos and do homework at home without network concern.
